SomaliComment respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users and contributors to do the same.

This Take Down Notice Policy outlines the process for reporting content that you believe infringes your copyright or other legal rights.

1. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that any content on SomaliComment infringes your copyright, you may submit a formal Take Down Notice by providing the following information:

  • Your full name and contact details (email and address)
  • A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  • The exact URL(s) of the content in question
  • Proof of ownership or authority to act on behalf of the copyright owner
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised
  • A statement that the information you provide is accurate and truthful

2. Submission of Notice

All Take Down Notices must be submitted via email:

We aim to acknowledge all valid requests within 48 hours.

3. Action Upon Receipt

Upon receiving a valid notice:

  • The content may be temporarily removed or disabled
  • We may contact the content uploader for clarification
  • Further action will be taken if the claim is verified

SomaliComment reserves the right to remove content without prior notice where appropriate.

4. Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice including:

  • Your full contact details
  • Identification of the removed content
  • A statement explaining why the removal was incorrect
  • A declaration of good faith

Upon review, the content may be restored if appropriate.

5. Repeat Infringers

SomaliComment may suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly violate copyright or intellectual property rights.

6. Disclaimer

SomaliComment acts as a platform for user-generated content and does not claim ownership of all materials published. We respond to valid legal notices in accordance with applicable laws.
